Plumfield Academy is a non-profit private independent school.

Plumfield Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Plumfield Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

Admission is based on a family’s understanding of and interest in their son or daughter being educated according to the educational philosophy and methodology of Charlotte Mason.

The admission process:

  1. The family attends an Open House or calls for an appointment to visit the campus and classes, and ask questions about Plumfield.
  2. The family participates in an interview to discuss Charlotte Mason philosophy and methodology, their hopes and educational goals, and to discover if this would be a good match for the family.
  3. If the family is still interested, the family submits an application, application fee (one per family), and supporting documents (student records, teacher recommendation).
  4. The student visits Plumfield during the school day to experience the learning atmosphere. Three consecutive visiting days are recommended.
  5. The Plumfield staff visits with the family to discuss admission.
