Plumfield Academy is a non-profit private independent school, and admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Plumfield Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

Admission is based on a family’s understanding of and interest in their son or daughter being educated according to the educational philosophy and methodology of Charlotte Mason.

The admission process:

  1. Parents (and possibly children) make a visit to the campus and observe classes to experience the atmosphere.
  2. A conversation to discuss Charlotte Mason philosophy and methodology follows.  The parents and students express their hopes and educational goals, as well as, ask any questions and raise any concerns.
  3. If interest continues, the family submits an application, application fee (one per family), and supporting documents (student records, teacher recommendation).
  4. The student attends Plumfield during the school day to experience the learning atmosphere. Three to five consecutive visiting days are recommended.
  5. The Plumfield staff visits with the family to discuss if Plumfield is a good fit for the student.  Enrollment and deposit follows.
